What the CMS Probe & Educate Initiative Means for Your Agency
Success tactics for high performing home health agencies
Late in 2015, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) would conduct “Probe and Educate” reviews of EVERY Medicare certified home health agency during the first three quarters of 2016. Five unpaid claims would be selected for review.
Review results so far are showing an error rate of over 91%. CMS has made it clear that agencies receiving two or more denials for the first five claims reviewed would have the option of obtaining educational guidance before being subjected to a repeat review of another five claims. What happens if there are still denials in the second round has not been announced, but chances are it will not be good.
Download the free eBook What the CMS Probe & Educate Initiative Means for Your Agency today and protect your agency.
