Beyond Tolerance: How to Build Cultural Humility in Hospice Teams

Presented by hospice consultant, trainer, and author Rev. Dr. Carla Cheatham

Webinar On Demand

Your ability to connect with patients and families of all cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs is more than mere political correctness. It will make or break the trust and connection necessary for you to be effective in your work. Research indicates that simply improving knowledge about groups different from your own may impact attitudes, but only slightly. The route to true change is intergroup contact and the resulting self-reflection and change in perspective that it brings.

Watch this free webinar presented by renowned hospice consultant, trainer, and author Rev. Dr. Carla Cheatham.
With humor and authenticity, Rev. Cheatham invites us to abandon shame, consider our cultural biases, and explore practical ways to grow past them. This important work can improve outcomes and increase satisfaction — for your patients, your team, and yourself.

Attend to learn:

  • How cultural humility impacts outcomes and the care that patients and families receive
  • How to deepen your understanding of your own unconscious biases
  • Strategies to improve your cultural humility
