Understanding the New Nursing G-Codes
By Jill Dyer, BSN, RN, HCS-D, HCS-O - J.I.D. Consulting and Coding, LLC

Effective January 1, 2017, G-codes used in home health billing have changed. G-codes G0163 and G0164 have been retired and replaced with four new codes. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued this policy change in November 2016, after the 2017 Home Health Final Rule, so many providers missed it.
